Paragliding Tuition
Paragliding offers freedom, convenience and simplicity.You are literally flying by your seat of your pants. In my opinion, Paragliding is the purest from of flying. From your first paragliding flights as a novice you will appreciate the feeling of free flight. For the advancing pilot the challenge is always there for a personal distance record and experiencing new and exciting flying areas.
Your paraglider and harness will fold into a ruck sack, the size of a tramping pack, weighing around 12 kg and can be easily transported in the car or take it on your holiday on the plane. If you are keen on tramping, how about climbing uo your favourite mountain and paragliding down. Set up time is only a few minutes and if you are lucky enough to live in NZ, a very short drive to your flying site.
As the only full time training facility in Christchurch, we offer a wide range of courses from a 1 day Intro, a 3-day Novice course (PG1), to a full Paragliding Licence Course(PG2). Parapro provides all the equipment for training and uses the latest entry level / training wings and harnesses during all courses. We run paragliding courses all year around, 7 days week, weather permitting.
Paramotoring Tuition.
Sometimes called Powered Paragliding, this exciting sport provides the freedom to travel away from your launch area and explore further afield. Paramtors can fly up to 4000 meters in height and up to 6 hours in flight duration. No wind or a hill is required for launching. They are one of the cheapest and safest form of powered flight in the world and certainly the most convenient.
Paramotoring courses come in either a 3-day powered converstion (after you have obtained your PG2) or a 10-day specific paramotoring course. We run Paramotoring courses are run all year round 7 days a week weather permitting.
Speed flying and Speed Riding Tuition
Parapro provides Speed Flying and Speed Riding courses. Speed Riding is launching on skis and is great fun combined with sking. An good ski level is required - at least to an intermediate standard. Wings are normally in the 12 - 14 sq meter range. Speed flying is using wings in the 14 - 19 sq meter range and are designed more for flying in strong winds, hike and flys and fast descents.
